Laboratory Operations Specialist

Responsibilities:

• Oversee day-to-day lab operations, including ordering, receiving, inventory management, and restocking of consumables and materials.
• Coordinate cleaning and sterilization of labware, support sterilization protocols, and assist with lab readiness.
• Manage compressed gas inventory and delivery, working with vendors to ensure safe and timely replenishment.
• Conduct basic equipment inspections, troubleshoot minor issues, and coordinate third-party servicing or repairs when needed.
• Serve as a liaison with lab service providers, including suppliers and maintenance contractors.
• Maintain logs and documentation for equipment usage, service history, safety audits, and supply inventory.
• Support biosafety and quality compliance, ensuring lab practices align with internal SOPs and regulatory requirements.
• Work collaboratively with scientists, lab leadership, and quality teams to maintain an efficient, safe, and productive laboratory environment.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related scientific discipline.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience supporting operations in a research lab, biotech, or life sciences setting.
• Proven ability to manage inventory, laboratory equipment, and facility logistics.
• Preferred Experience
• Familiarity with BSL-2 lab practices, including biohazard waste handling and chemical safety procedures.
• Experience with compressed gas cylinders, including safe handling and tracking.
• Strong time management and organizational skills, with attention to detail and follow-through.
• Comfortable using basic digital systems, such as inventory tracking software or lab maintenance logs.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate across technical teams.
