Job Responsibilities:
Lead and support the design and modification of electrical systems for a facility undergoing major infrastructure expansion within a regulated production environment.
Develop, review, and revise technical drawings, schematics, load calculations, and system layouts related to lighting, emergency power, grounding, and low-voltage systems.
Ensure all electrical designs are compliant with applicable codes and industry standards (e.g., NFPA, NEC, IEEE), as well as GMP and internal quality expectations.
Conduct field assessments to determine the feasibility and impact of integrating new systems into existing infrastructure.
Collaborate with process, mechanical, automation, and commissioning teams to align installation and startup activities across disciplines.
Participate in planning and execution of equipment energization and site modifications related to production readiness.
Oversee contractor and vendor deliverables, including installation documents, submittals, and equipment integration during construction.
Support commissioning testing and verification activities, including factory and site acceptance tests (FAT/SAT), functional testing, and handover documentation.
Ensure all electrical work meets code compliance, safety regulations, and operational requirements.
Maintain accurate as-built documentation, redlines, and turnover packages for validation and audit-readiness.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
3+ years of hands-on electrical engineering experience, ideally in GMP, life sciences, or high-compliance environments.
Proficiency with CAD tools (AutoCAD, Revit, or similar) and system-level electrical design.
Experience working on facility expansions, retrofits, or large-scale upgrades in manufacturing or lab settings.
Solid understanding of power distribution, MCCs, control panels, fire protection systems, and emergency backup infrastructure.
Strong coordination skills and ability to work effectively across multi-disciplinary teams during design, construction, and commissioning.
Familiarity with lockout/tagout, live testing protocols, and facility startup safety procedures.
