Design Engineer

Job Responsibilities:

• Create and finalize designs for total knee replacement (TKA) using CT images, CAD models, and product drawings, adhering to standardized work instructions
• Gain expertise in multiple departments to enhance versatility and support diverse project needs
• Optimize product designs by analyzing patient CT images and collaborate with case management coordinators to prioritize proposals and designs based on customer demand
• Review and release previously designed image segmentation, proposals, and models to ensure high-quality standards
• Assist in developing concepts under the supervision of Product Development Engineers and contribute to special projects as needed
• Maintain a schedule of deadlines and tasks, effectively prioritizing to meet project timelines
• Utilize strong interpersonal skills to work effectively in team-oriented project groups
• Demonstrate the ability to take initiative and manage tasks independently
• Provide constructive feedback and mentorship as required to junior team members

Qualifications:

• B.S. in Engineering or a related technical field is strongly preferred
• 1 year of design experience with CAD/CAM/AutoCAD systems and advanced design applications is preferred
• Proficiency in three-dimensional modeling and PLM software is preferred.
• Knowledge of orthopedic product design, orthopedic anatomy, and medical terminology is preferred.
• Experience with drafting and layout, project or product management, GD&T, ASME, rapid prototyping applications, free-form modeling techniques, and engineering calculations is preferred
• Experience with Unigraphics/NX, AMIRA, MIMICS is preferred
