Maintenance Manager

Job Responsibilities:

  • Champion the organization’s commitment to safety, ensuring all maintenance activities align with company safety principles and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with safety and operations teams to address compliance needs, delivering training to meet organizational and legal requirements.
  • Oversee the performance and activities of maintenance staff, ensuring adherence to established protocols, safety guidelines, and regulatory standards.
  • Manage the maintenance department to ensure equipment reliability, safety, and timely repairs to support operational efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to track and optimize maintenance activities.
  • Create and manage the maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
  • Generate reports to monitor equipment performance, longevity, and maintenance issues, providing actionable insights for improvement.
  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements, proposing projects to address inefficiencies or operational challenges.
  • Maintain and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the maintenance team, ensuring alignment with current operational practices.
  • Lead assigned capital projects, ensuring timely and successful completion.
  • Support the development of the facility’s capital expenditure budget in collaboration with operations and engineering teams.
  • Oversee work order systems, preventive maintenance schedules, lockout/tagout procedures, equipment records, and inventory management.
  • Conduct performance evaluations for maintenance staff, including formal reviews in the spring, informal reviews in the fall, and ongoing feedback as needed.
  • Act as the primary emergency response coordinator for the facility and participate in the emergency response team.
  • Foster employee growth through regular communication, mentorship, and annual performance reviews.
  • Uphold the organization’s commitment to excellence by maintaining high-quality facilities and delivering superior service to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Perform all duties outlined in relevant SOPs and take on additional tasks as assigned.
  • Participate in required training for regulatory compliance, safety, and operational processes, reviewing updates with the supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Provide a monthly report summarizing maintenance department performance, key metrics, and significant activities.
  • Guide the development and documentation of process control systems to enhance plant operations.
  • Maintain an organized vendor database for equipment, parts, and services.
  • Develop and implement corrective actions for issues identified during routine facility audits.
  • Collaborate with other departments to balance workloads and provide backup support as needed.
  • Promote effective communication across departments to ensure seamless operations and team success.
