EHS Specialist

Indianapolis 40 - 60 p/h Contract

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive EHS programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
  • Conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses to identify potential safety and environmental risks in the workplace
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, including OSHA, EPA, NRC, and other applicable EHS regulations
  • Prepare and submit required environmental and safety reports to regulatory agencies.
  • Develop and deliver training programs for employees on EHS topics, including radiation safety, chemical handling, emergency response, and general workplace safety
  • Maintain records of training sessions and ensure all employees are up-to-date with required EHS training
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of facilities, equipment, and processes to ensure compliance with EHS standards and identify areas for improvement
  • Monitor radiation levels and other environmental parameters, ensuring adherence to safety limits and regulations
  • Investigate EHS incidents, near misses, and accidents to determine root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions
  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures for various scenarios, including radiological emergencies, chemical spills, and natural disasters.
  • Oversee the management and disposal of hazardous and radioactive waste, ensuring compliance with regulations and company policies
  • Implement waste minimization and pollution prevention programs


Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Sciences, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field
  • Min 3 years in EHS position within Pharmaceutical or Radiopharmaceuticals
  • Experience with Radiation Safety (cert not required, but preferred)
