Metrology Supervisor
Job Overview:
The Metrology Supervisor will lead the calibration program, ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and compliance of instruments and equipment used in pharmaceutical manufacturing. This role oversees a team of calibration professionals while managing scheduling, documentation, investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in calibration systems, leadership skills to guide and mentor team members, and a deep understanding of regulatory requirements in a GMP-regulated environment.
Job Responsibilities:
Supervise and lead the daily operations of the calibration team.
Plan, schedule, and prioritize calibration activities to ensure timely completion and support production and maintenance needs.
Maintain and enhance calibration procedures, documentation, and control systems.
Manage corrective and preventive actions related to measurement systems.
Train, mentor, and develop calibration technicians to ensure technical competence and compliance with safety and quality standards.
Serve as a point of contact for audits, clients, and internal teams regarding calibration compliance and measurement traceability.
Lead out-of-tolerance investigations and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement improvements.
Analyze calibration data trends to drive process reliability and improve measurement systems.
Ensure compliance with industry regulations and maintain accuracy of measurement equipment.
Work flexible hours as needed to meet project and operational demands.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in the calibration field, or a bachelor’s degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
Strong knowledge of regulated quality systems, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry.
Proficiency with calibration standards, instruments, and calibration management software.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and P&IDs.
At least 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
