Packaging Engineer

Job Responsibilities:

Collaborate with the R&D team to optimize key properties for material performance and scalability
Conceive novel concepts for low-cost fiber packaging through optical/mechanical design and modeling of photonic chip coupling interfaces
Simulate the performance of optical assemblies, with a mind towards the interface between PICs and package, as well as manufacturing tolerances
Characterize and qualify the developed packaging solution (optical/mechanical/reliability) with device and systems engineers
Partners with packaging compatibility scientists to ensure studies are completed in a timely manner to support peer review deadlines.
Conducts physical stability or other requested performance testing on formulations as needed.
Summarizes compatibility and stability data across several on-going projects.
Partners with analytical scientists for sample assay submission

Qualifications:

BS in Packaging Science, Packaging Engineer, Chemistry, or material science related field
2+ years of experience required
Previous technical experience is preferred
Ability to work well in a team and successfully work to deliver against challenging projects and timelines
